Cervical Total Disc Replacement

Anterior cervical (front of the neck) total disc replacement surgery involves the removal of a disc, enlarging the space where the neural elements reside and replacing the disc with a completely new mechanical disc. The benefits of this surgery is that allows for mobility, moving the head up and down and side to side) and may decrease the stress placed on the segments of the spine above and below the device. This procedure can be performed on those patients with limited arthritis.

Dr. Taylor has significant experience with total disc replacement surgery and has performed single level, two, three and four level total disc replacements with success.

Surgery should always be the last alternative after all other non-operative treatments have been explored. Click here for more details on non-surgical options.
